SUHUF: Journal of Qur’anic Studies and Culture is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf Al-Qur’an, under the Agency of Religious Moderation and Human Resource Development of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. Since its first publication in 2008, SUHUF has served as an academic platform for the dissemination of original research, critical studies, and scholarly discussions on the Qur’an and its related intellectual, textual, historical, and cultural traditions.

The journal focuses on a wide range of topics within Qur’anic studies, including but not limited to the study of the mushaf, Qur’anic manuscripts, translation, interpretation, rasm, qira’at, codicology, philology, textual transmission, Qur’anic calligraphy, Qur’anic education, and other branches of Qur’anic sciences. SUHUF also welcomes interdisciplinary studies that examine the Qur’an in relation to history, culture, society, language, art, digital humanities, religious practice, and contemporary Muslim intellectual discourse.

A distinctive feature of SUHUF is its strong emphasis on Qur’anic studies in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The journal seeks to highlight the rich and diverse traditions of Qur’anic reception, preservation, interpretation, translation, and transmission within the region. By doing so, SUHUF contributes to the broader global scholarship on the Qur’an while offering critical perspectives from Indonesian and Southeast Asian academic contexts.

SUHUF is committed to promoting high-quality academic publishing through rigorous editorial standards, scholarly integrity, and responsible research practices. Manuscripts submitted to the journal are expected to present original contributions, demonstrate methodological clarity, engage critically with relevant literature, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Qur’anic studies. The journal encourages submissions from researchers, lecturers, students, Qur’an scholars, and practitioners whose work advances knowledge in the field.

The journal is published twice a year, in June and December, in both electronic and print formats. SUHUF carries the print ISSN 1979-6544 and electronic ISSN 2548-6942. The journal has been accredited by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences / Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) under Decree No. 753/AU2/P2MI-LIPI/08/2016.

Through its publications, SUHUF aims to strengthen scholarly communication, encourage international academic exchange, and support the development of Qur’anic studies as a dynamic and interdisciplinary field. The journal aspires to become a leading reference for Qur’anic scholarship, particularly in relation to the textual, historical, and cultural expressions of the Qur’an in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and the wider Muslim world.
